Every blogger has used links within the structure of his/her blog. The purpose why they do that is to attract more people to read the post or to guide the audience through a certain path or direction. The really important thing about linking is whether we know the purpose behind each type of link and we have to decide at a certain point what the anchor text to that link should be. In order to accomplish this and utilize the different link types I give you the links that bloggers use the most nowadays and a brief analysis of what they do:
Resource Links
Bloggers place links in their posts to promote something, to reach the audience in a particular way or to provide useful and in depth information on a specific field. The links that provide useful information definitely have to be present in a blog post in case you want to gain more interest to the topic but yet they have to be a small number because you want people to click on them. The best way to go about this is by adding the resource link when you summarize or analyze a certain topic. Another good way of doing it is by adding links at the end of your post which takes your visitors to other blog posts that relate to yours. It is really good if you link to your blog posts on a regular basis. A lot of experts in the SEO field know the fact that this can help you raise the value of the pages youaˆ™re linking to.
Friendly Links
These links could be found on posts that link to similar posts or posts that are from the same community. More often these links are links between friends. You can find people linking to one another inside their communities quite regularly. By linking to other bloggers from your community you deliver a new point of view to your readers that enlarges the focus on the topics you discuss.
Attention Links
Bloggers have always been trying and spending time to attract other bloggersaˆ™ attention to them. These links can use great anchor text but they donaˆ™t have to. Theyaˆ™re just links. Very often, youaˆ™ll see them piled together in a sentence, one word after the other.
Sales Links
Do you want to drive people to buy something? Then the sales links are exactly what you are looking for! They help you drive people through specific path to sigh up for a product download a program etc. The “click here” phrase is the most common one when talking about sales links. Other widespread words that attract attention are the words “sign up”, “free”, “buy now”, “download”, “discount”, “free trial” and let’s not forget the catch phrase BOGOF (buy one get one free). When combined with a sales link this becomes a very powerful marketing technique.
As a blogger you most probably want your blog to be recognized as an authoritative resource. By utilizing these types of links properly you will not only enlarge the scope of your blog’s field but this will also make your blog more user friendly to your readers by providing them with an easy to find helpful information.
