Most of the top bloggers have an already established consistent traffic and regular readers if you will. The tricks that some of them are leveraging in order to gain traffic are so diverse and unique that you would be amazed to find out how they utilize all sorts of traffic gaining techniques.

Bloggers like John Chow and Darren Rowse are just two of the bloggers that have used the design change as means of getting traffic. Before we analyze their success and the tools they’ve used we have to mention that these two blogs are renowned for delivering useful information revealing different ways of making money through your blog. So one has to agree that these methods will most probably be successful if your blog has already attracted a consistent traffic and you just want to maintain it by implementing the new design look.

John Chow shares that his original intention was to allow his blog to do more ad sales as well as gaining more traffic. He adds, “A new theme helps generates renewed interest and buzz for your blog. Readers who havenaˆ™t checked out your blog for awhile will come to see the new looks.” He posted his traffic changes after the new theme was launched.

Traffic Increase Because of The New Theme:

The numbers on the left side show the traffic statistics for the period of August 8 to 21 - one day before the new design was launched. As for the numbers on the right they reveal the data for the traffic for two weeks after the launch of the new design.

Darren Rowse from problogger is gaining speed and authority in the blogosphere. He added quite a lot of new things and features to his blog like a job board, b5 blog roll, new ad formats. All these new features complement the blog and its niche but apparently the old blog design did not match the ideas and the style that the blog was blogging about. He shares that the design he wanted in the first place was something clean and yet with symbolism.

Shoemoney recently acquired a refresh job done to his blog. The same goes for Darin Carter.

The thing about the new blog design is that if you don’t have a valuable and thought provoking content on your site/blog the results won’t be that impressive. You would probably create a small splash effect which won’t last long. That is why it is strongly recommended that you develop the design and the content at the same time. This will guarantee you a consistent traffic of loyal readers.
